AM Surf Edit - When The Pelicans Glide by Tate Warner

The short film is called “When The Pelicans Glide”. I did all of the filming, editing, coloring, and animation myself. My friend Patrick O’Connor did all of the surfing on his brother-in-laws hand-shaped surfboards; riding/ripping a log, an egg, and a short board. My friend Cooper Laws plays a 70s Baldwin Fun Machine on the second track of the score which I produced myself under the band name “The Blue Waters”. The other tracks (the first and the last) were written, performed, recorded, and mixed entirely on my lonesome 2 days ago in my bed room. The score helped me visualize the structure of the film before I began the final edit. I hope you enjoy watching and listening! Thank you for holding this contest & supporting the process of creating!

When the pelicans glide along a wave on the edge of the ocean, they knowingly appreciate their oneness with the natural rhythm of the universe. Their spirit demonstrates a graceful connection to all matter inside and outside the body.

When the pelicans glide along a wave in the edge of the ocean, they imagine a board beneath their feet. They trim, glide, turn, dance, and ride the nose to gather momentum towards their instinctual destination called upon they by God knows what.
