My name is Blaine and I am primarily a wedding videographer based on Oahu but I also really enjoy filming surf. The title of my short film is, “In Bloom.” and the vision I had for it was that of connection. I always thought the art of surfing, specifically longboarding, had similarities to hula and wanted to showcase that. I knew going into this contest I would be up against a ton of super high quality edits and wanted to do something a little different. Being from Hawaii, I felt I had an opportunity to incorporate different cultural aspects into this surf film.
